O acidente aconteceu por volta das 06h25 quando o ve\u00edculo Fiat Palio, placa OXA 4488 de Muria\u00e9-MG, que trafegava no sentido Sul, bateu de frente com um \u00f4nibus da Via\u00e7\u00e3o S\u00e3o Geraldo, que seguia de Campinas-SP para Salvador (BA). O motorista do Fiat Palio, William de Souza Viana, de 20 anos de idade, morreu no local. Mais duas v\u00edtimas foram atendidas pelo SAMU e levadas para o Pronto Socorro Municipal. Duas viaturas do Corpo de Bombeiros de Muria\u00e9 tamb\u00e9m foram acionadas. Segundo informa\u00e7\u00f5es apuradas pelo jornal O Vigilante Online, parceiro do Site Silvan Alves, em Leopoldina, as duas v\u00edtimas foram atendidas e liberadas. Segundo informa\u00e7\u00f5es, ap\u00f3s a colis\u00e3o, alguns passageiros quebraram as janelas para sair do ve\u00edculo.
